The housing problem–particularly the shortage of housing for the poor–emerged as one of the major domestic issues of the s and threatens to continue well into the next decade. The most widely used and most widely referenced "basic book" on Housing Policy in the United States has now been substantially revised to examine the turmoil resulting from the collapse of the housing market in and the related financial crisis.
